Some of us have been in a situation where a friend or family member was experiencing a mental health emergency. You want to help, but you don’t know how to help. It is like watching someone having a seizure. If you don’t know CPR or know the steps to take, all you can do is watch. Youth Mental Health First Aid training will teach you how to take action, empowering you to help someone in need.
This course trains individuals to assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis or is under emotional distress. Youth Mental Health First Aiders learn:

- Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders.
- A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or in crisis.
- Where to turn for help — professional, peer, and self-help resources.
